Physicists Discover Inorganic Dust With Lifelike Qualities
17 08 2007Science Daily — Could extraterrestrial life be made of corkscrew-shaped particles of interstellar dust? Intriguing new evidence of life-like structures that form from norganic substances in space have been revealed in the New Journal of Physics. Burned-out star harbors signs of Earthlike planets
17 08 2007WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Chemical elements observed around a burned-out star known as a white dwarf offer evidence Earth-like planets once orbited it, suggesting that worlds like our own may not be rare in the cosmos, scientists said on Thursday.
Astronomers at the University of California, Los Angeles and University of Kiel in Germany studied a white dwarf called GD 362 located 150 light-years away in our Milky Way galaxy.
